We're the first monastery brewery in Moravia to be revived! The current brewery is run by Porta Coeli Monastery Brewery, JSC, with the Cistercian convent also holding a stake. The idea to bring back the brewing tradition at the monastery in Předklášteří came about in the summer of 2016. Our group consists of 16 shareholders, driven by three main motivations: some are passionate beer lovers and brewing enthusiasts, others were drawn in by the history and the idea of reviving a lost craft, and the third group has a strong connection to the church and its buildings. The new brewery started operating in July 2019 and focuses primarily, but not exclusively, on producing bottom-fermented, unfiltered, and unpasteurized beers, especially lagers.

The project aims to boost our beer production capacity with five 20 hl cylindroconical tanks (CCTs) and increase bottle filling efficiency using a semi-automatic filler. By implementing this project, we'll be able to produce more beer and introduce returnable, deposit-based packaging made exclusively for Porta Coeli Monastery Brewery, JSC. This measure will also have a significant positive impact on the environment and sustainable development.
